Martin B. Scharf, Ph.D., Director of the Center, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and has served as Associate Director of the Sleep Disorders Lab at UCLA and the Sleep Research and Treatment Center at Pennsylvania State University. A highly respected expert in his field, Dr. Scharf received his B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Pennsylvania State University.
In addition to his current position at the Center, Dr. Scharf is a clinical professor in the department of Psychiatry at Wright State University, College of Medicine. He has appeared on network television talk shows such as "Oprah," "P.M. Magazine," "Hour Magazine," "20/20" and "Good Morning, America," and has published over 200 articles on the topics of sleep disorders.
